HOW TO BID AT AN AUCTION
Bidilla, Inc. hosts online only auctions, live auctions, and live auctions with simultaneous online bidding. Each type of auction has requirements for bidder registration. Once registered, you may only need to request to participate in an auction. Once you are approved to participate in an auction, you may then bid. Please remember, by bidding in an auction, you are creating a contract. This contract is based on the terms & conditions for that particular auction. Each auction has its own unique set of terms and conditions. Please read the terms and conditions for each auction prior to bidding.
ONLINE ONLY AUCTIONS
Most auctions at bidilla are online only auctions. These online only auctions are hosted on the Proxibid® platform. To bid, you must register with Proxibid®. A credit card is used to verify your identity. For all general merchandise auctions (Not titled vehicles/Heavy Equipment or Real Estate), this credit card will be charged at the end of the auction for your purchases. For titled vehicles, heavy equipment, or real estate auctions, please see the terms of sale of that auction, for payment instructions. Please see Payment for more information regarding payments.
ONLINE AUCTION REGISTRATION
To register on Proxibid®, you have several options. The easiest way to register, is to simply click the “Sign up” button at the top of the auction page on the Proxibid® platform.
However, you can also go to the “Participate in this event” link under the photo on any auction page.
This will cause a Buyer Log in popup box to appear. There is a “Sign up” link at the bottom of the popup box.
You can also get to the same Buyer Log in popup box by simply attempting to bid on any lot in the auction.
Whichever method you use, the “Sign up” button will take you to a page, asking you to choose to sign up as a Buyer or as a Seller. Click the “Sign up to buy” button.
From there you will be taken to a page asking you to “Choose how you’d like to sign up”. Click the button that says “Create my FREE buyer account”.
You will be taken to the “Buyer account signup” page. On this page, you will enter a user name. You will also enter a password, and then re-enter the password to confirm it. Finally, enter your email address.

PARTICIPATING IN AN ONLINE AUCTION
After registering to bid, you need to request to participate, if you want to bid in an auction. To do so, simply click the “Participate in this event” link under the auction photo. You can also request to participate by attempting to bid on a lot in the auction. Once you are approved to participate (in most cases this approval is instant), you can then bid in that auction.
BIDDING IN AN ONLINE AUCTION
Prior to bidding, please read and understand the Terms of Sale section on each auction page. By bidding in the auction you are agreeing to the terms of sale, and creating a contract. The terms of sale can be found on each auction page under the photo, right next to the “Catalog” tab. They can also be found on each lot page under the lot photo, right next to the “Description” tab.
To bid on an item, you can instantly bid by pressing the “BID NOW” button next to the lot of your choice. Your bid will be placed at the next increment in the bidding process.
This will advance the bid one bid increment. If you are outbid, and you wish to increase your bid, you must come back to the lot and bid again.
If you know the maximum amount you wish to bid on an item, you can use the “Enter a maximum bid” link under the “BID NOW” button.
This will change the bidding mode. You then need to enter a maximum bid and press the “PLACE BID” button.
Please be aware that bids are placed in whole dollar amounts. Decimal points are not automatically added. If you want to enter cents, you have to type the decimal point in yourself. The computer will bid on your behalf up to the maximum bid amount you have entered. The bidding will not automatically increase to your maximum bid, unless someone else is bidding against you. Another bidder may be bidding one bid at a time, or may also have placed a maximum bid. In the case where another bidder has also placed a maximum bid, your bid may seem to jump up to a higher bid. However, in the background on the platform, the two of you are actually bidding against each other instantly. In any case, your bid will never fo above your maximum bid amount.
The bidding follows certain bid increments. A link to the bid increment table can be found on each page of an auction, under “search catalog”.
Please note, if you bid a certain amount, and another bidder has already placed a maximum bid for that same amount, since the other bidder placed the bid first, the computer will award that bid to them. You would need to increase the bid to outbid them.
If a bid is placed in the last two minutes of an item closing, the item will go into “Extended Bidding”. This means that the countdown clock will reset with 2 minutes remaining. This extra two minutes prevents bid snipers from coming in and bidding at the last second to win an item without allowing other bidders to respond. The item may remain open indefinitely as long as bids are still being received.
LIVE AUCTIONS & LIVE AUCTIONS WITH SIMULTANEOUS ONLINE BIDDING
A live auction, whether or not there is an online bidding component associated with it, may require additional information, a deposit, or additional steps in order to register. Please see the Terms and Conditions for that specific auction for details.
